Annual or Biennial. Rocket, Italian Cress, Roqueete Rucola are some of the m any other names for Salad Rocket. The thickish green leaves, which have a peppery taste, are mainly used in salads but may also be cooked like spinach and, in France, are cooked with peas.

Where To Sow: Sow seeds thinly in a pre-watered 5mm deep row, and cover seeds with sprinkling of soil. Keep moist, as this is required for germination. Suited to successional sowings every 3 weeks or so.
What To Do Next: Thin out seedlings as they grow to final spacing of 15cm. Plants are ready harvsest three or four weeks from sowing.
Handy Tip: Pick leaves regularly as plants will quickly run to seed. Sow in small plots each month to ensure continuous supply of leaves.
Nutritional Value: A good source of Vitamins A, C & K. Also contains Copper & Iron.
