Latin name:Lagenaria siceraria
Large round bottom section connected by a narrow neck to a smaller round upper section. Harvest when the smooth, greenish rind turns white or starts to brown. Dry for durable bottles, birdhouses, etc.
CULTURE: Refer to "Winter Squash". Small fruited gourds avg. 9,000 seeds/lb. Large fruited gourds avg. 2,200 seeds/lb.
